INTRODUCTION

Hello,
I love the geat outdoors... Hunting, fishing, camping-you name it, I love it all. Ever since I was just a teenie weenie redneck, I loved being able to goof off around wildlife, nature and such. But now that I'm a full growed redneck, I have learned to sit back and smell the pine needles and have really started to appreciate "Everything About the Great Outdoors" just a little bit more. Sure, I always enjoyed it but now I can honestly say I am starting to finally see it's true beauty. I imagine you must have the same types of interest as I do since you're here. So with that said, I hope you enjoy "EVERYTHING ABOUT THE GREAT OUTDOORS". This site/community quite naturally is a work in progress, and will be continuely updated as often as I can. I plan in the future to ad news, forums and much more to each category as quickly as I can as I am learning how to do this all on the fly. If you would like to ad a comment, a story, fact, photo or video clip please contact me at scott@thesteiners.org. If you are interested in advertising you may do the same. I promise I will do my best to update any helpful information as quickly as possible. Thanks again I look forward to hearing from you and in the meantime, I hope you enjoy everything about the great outdoors...

WHAT IS IT?

Don't know exactly what is was that sparked my interest int the outdoors. Maybe it was going back to Nebraska every summer and running and swimming in the Loup River. Maybe, it was my best friends' dad taking me on one of my first camping trips in the Black Hills. Or maybe it was even my dad. Though dad never was really into the outdoors, he always seemed to have the time to take me to the lake or the river or wherever I wanted to go. I remember getting up before the sun came up and stopping by our favorite fishing shop to get worms, of course that is if I didn't already have them from catching em' the night before. I always new how far we had to go just by how many curves we went around and how many more there were to come. It didn't matter how early we got to the lake, nor how cold and wet the grass was. I loved every second of it. I'm not sure if it was me wanting to be able to have a story to tell my friends later, about the time that I did... Like I said I am not sure what it is about pitching a tent in the dark, getting stung by misquitoes and of course getting so sun burnt that it even hurt to walk. Maybe I'm just weird.
